My Voter Card and your account
Looking up your address. When you look up your address, our website passes it to the U.S. Census Bureau’s address-matching service to find your districts. Our website does not keep it. Your practice ballot packet is then built in your own browser. For that step, your street address is not sent anywhere or saved, and it is not put in a web address. The packet opens district files, and our logs show which ones. Before October 12, 2026, our address lookup and an older address box on another page used a web address that our hosting and firewall logs may have recorded. Those logs are removed on their own, within 6 months. You type your full address and tap “Find My Districts.”
Saving your card. Saving your card is your choice. We ask for your name, email, address and cell number. Until you tap Confirm, we keep what you typed for about 24 hours. If you do not confirm, we delete it. We do not add you to an email list when you save your card.
Your account. When you confirm your email, we make a member account for you. We keep your name, your email, the address you saved, your cell number, and whether you checked the text box.
Your cell number and texting. We ask for a cell number when you save your card, and we keep it with your account. We do not text it unless you check the text box. Checking the box is optional, and you can save your card without it. Texting is off for now. No text has been sent to anyone. Reply STOP to any text to cancel. Reply HELP to any text for help, or email jordan.hale@nacagroup.org.
Saved on this device. While you use the page, your browser also keeps the address you typed and your districts in that one tab. We use that copy for up to 2 hours, and your browser deletes it when you close the tab. Saving your card clears it.
Deleting your account. Email jordan.hale@nacagroup.org and write “Delete my account.” You can also reply to any email from us. We will write back to the email on your account to make sure it is you. Then, within 30 days, we delete your account, your saved card and your cell number. We do not have a delete button on the site yet. If you gave a donation, the donation record is kept separately and this request does not remove it.
Our website logs and backups. Our website host keeps a log. It records that a request was made, your IP address, the time and which page or file was asked for. The host keeps these logs for about 30 days. Our website firewall (Sucuri) also keeps a log, for up to 6 months. Since October 12, 2026, your street address is not in these logs. We do not sell these logs. We share them only with the companies that run our hosting and firewall. Our site backups can also hold your saved information, for a limited time. Deleting your account does not change logs or backups. They are removed on their own.
Site visit statistics
We use Google Analytics, through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to count visits and see which pages people read. Google sets cookies in your browser and receives information such as the pages you visit, your browser and device type, and your general location (city level). Google may see your IP address when your browser contacts it. We do not send Google Analytics your name, email, street address, or cell number.
We have turned off Google signals, ad personalization, and data sharing with Google. We do not use this data for ads. Visits by people signed in to the site are not counted.
To stop this, you can use Google’s opt-out add-on or block cookies in your browser. The site still works if you do.
Other companies’ tools. Our pages load fonts, images and small tools from other companies. These companies can see your IP address and which page you are on when the page loads. We do not send them the address you type, except Google Places on the My Voter Card page, described below. Our pages load fonts from Bunny Fonts. Some pages, including My Voter Card, also load Google Fonts, and your browser may open a connection to Google’s font servers on any page. On the My Voter Card page the outside tools are: font services (Bunny Fonts and Google Fonts), a share-button tool (AddToAny), a tool that sizes embedded frames (from Cloudflare’s cdnjs), and the Candid transparency seal image. Our donation page uses Stripe to take payments. When you build your packet, the files that do it come from our own site. When you type your address on the My Voter Card page, Google Places suggests matching addresses. To do this, Google receives the letters you type and may see your IP address. We do not show a map. When you pick an address and tap Find My Districts, we send it to the U.S. Census Bureau’s address lookup to find your districts. We do not put your address in the page link. You can skip the suggestions and type your full address yourself.
